In 2006, I discovered the documentary Rize by David LaChapelle, and it opened my eyes to the powerful world of krump.
This dance, an acronym for “Kingdom Radically Uplifting Mighty Praise,” captivated me not only as an art form but as a raw, cathartic means of personal and collective expression.
IT wasnโt until 2023 that I reconnected with krump when Krump Belgium sought to expand its team. Joining them reignited my passion and inspired Katharsis (contraction of Catharsis and krump), a photographic project exploring the holistic and cathartic dimensions of this powerful dance form
winner of the 2024 agnes varda jury prize.
